Background

Education Concern Center, Nepal (ECC, Nepal) is a non government and non profit making organization registered in Lalitpur District Administration Office of the government of Nepal according to institution Regd. Act. 2034. and also affiliated with Social Welfare Council in 2004.

The head office of ECC, Nepal is located in Patan Dhoka Lalitpur district. It is a group of young and energetic people.

ECC has developed close relationships with the local NGOs and community members. It is working in the area of uplifting the standard of community life in the rural and remote area. It is a big challenge working in the remote areas due to security situation in the country. When standard of life in the community getting worse day by day. Up to now ECC has established support offices in six different districts (Dailekh, Banke, Palpa, Salyan, Mugu and Kathmandu valley). Volunteers are working in these stations. They help in providing scholarship and uniforms to the needy students, to the parents and awareness classes on resource identification and mobilization in local level.

Mission

Working with disadvantaged and poor communities without any differences and making changes in human societies through education.

Goal

To help to ensure that the needy children and the disadvantaged communities get the opportunity of education and awareness level of education then they can improve their life standing.

Objectives

• To rehabilitate the sick, destitute and people from poor communities under service oriented activities.
• To provide trainings on different vocations which foster social and individual development.
• To conduct necessary study and research for community development and other sectors.
• To conduct necessary programs on health education, employment, trade, agriculture, forestry and environment.

Area of Partnership and Support

ECC, Nepal is working in uplifting the standard of life of communities. So its priority areas are education, scholarship to the needy students, schooling to those children who are not attending school in their school age, parent education, improving school facilities that building, furniture, and other community development activities (sanitation, drinking water, kitchen garden, income generation and others). Currently we have partner schools in Dailekh, Palpa, Myagdi, Dhading and Kathmandu.

Financial Sources

ECC has its own fund collection system. It is funded by the member fees and donation collected by the members.
